Industrial Data & UNS Strategy Consultant - PKW Tech Consultancy Ltd
October 2025 - Present

Engaged on AstraZeneca’s Autonomous Manufacturing Programme, leading OT systems data standards development and delivery.

  • Leading the development and delivery of OT systems data standards, defining data requirements across equipment and systems to support Process Intelligence (Batch Release by Exception, Advanced CPV, CPPs & CQAs) and Asset Intelligence (Predictive Maintenance, OEE) use cases.
  • Authored vendor data requirement specifications for manufacturing shopfloor and facility control systems at AstraZeneca’s new Greenfield biologics manufacturing facility.
  • Led the definition of AstraZeneca’s enterprise Unified Namespace (UNS), designing a dual-strategy approach combining an ISA-95 Asset-Centric hierarchy and a Domain-Centric model (aligned to ISA-95 Parts 3–5 with B2MML/JSON payloads).
  • Defined the qualification and validation strategy for AstraZeneca’s Factory Integration Platform (HighByte Intelligence Hub and HiveMQ MQTT broker), establishing a risk-based IQ/OQ/PQ framework compliant with 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11.
Senior Product Manager – Historian & Visualisation - GlaxoSmithKline
August 2020 - October 2025

Owned the vision, strategy, and product backlog for the global enterprise Historian & Visualisation platform across 19 sites and 22 systems worldwide.

  • Led historian integration with the Factory Integration Layer (HighByte Intelligence Hub, HiveMQ, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Data Explorer), enabling seamless OT/IT data flow, contextualisation, and downstream analytics consumption.
  • Delivered a multi-tenant, Azure-hosted enterprise historian supporting high-volume continuous and event-context data, establishing a consistent data foundation for digital twin development and decision-making.
  • Spearheaded new technology introductions including MPMS and a Predictive Maintenance platform — leading technical implementation, GMP qualification, and validation delivery from concept through to operational release.
  • Managed vendor relationships and led custom solution development, reducing operational effort and accelerating the Smart Manufacturing programme.
DevOps Manager - GlaxoSmithKline
May 2019 - August 2020

Led the MES team’s adoption of DevOps practices and tooling within the Manufacturing Execution Systems organisation.

  • Introduced Azure DevOps and coached teams on Agile/KANBAN methodology to improve throughput and focus on value-added delivery.
  • Migrated all MES source code from disparate file shares into Git repositories, establishing version control and enabling collaborative development.
  • Designed and implemented automated software release pipelines for MES software using Azure DevOps, SharePoint, and Power Automate — reducing codebases under management and accelerating release cycles.

Diagnosed business pains within the manufacturing environment and developed IT-based solutions deployed across multiple sites within the global network.

  • Developed dashboards and reporting tools to address operational challenges across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Served as Apprentice Custodian for the Manufacturing Tech Organisation, supporting apprentice training, performance calibration, and onboarding of new team members.

  • Became Subject Matter Expert for the local OEE system, deploying it to new production lines and driving improvements to existing business processes.
